  • 1 package (16 oz) Vanilla CANDIQUIK® Candy Coating
  • 1 package pecan halves
  • 24 large marshmallows
  • 1 package flake coconut
  • 1 package candy corn
  • Oil or powder-based yellow food coloring
  • Cake writing icing

  1. Place coconut and a few drops of yellow food coloring in a plastic zip-lock bag. Shake until all coconut is colored yellow.
  2. On wax paper arrange pecan halves in clusters of 3 to form base of chicks; 2 face forward for feet and 1 perpendicular across back.
  3. Melt CANDIQUIK® Candy Coating in Melt and Make Microwaveable Tray™ according to directions on package.
  4. Spoon a small amount of melted CANDIQUIK® Candy Coating on each pecan cluster (to hold clusters together).
  5. Dip marshmallows into melted CANDIQUIK® Candy Coating; shake off excess coating. Sprinkle with colored coconut; let set until dry.
  6. Attach marshmallows to pecan clusters using a dab of melted CANDIQUIK® Candy Coating.
  7. When set, make small opening in marshmallow with tip of knife or a toothpick; press piece of candy corn in for beak.
  8. Draw eyes using cake writing icing.
