ingredients
- 1 package (16 oz) Vanilla CANDIQUIK® Candy Coating
- 1 package (16 oz) Chocolate CANDIQUIK® Candy Coating
- 1 box vanilla cake mix (plus ingredients for cake mix)
- 1/2 of (16 oz) container vanilla frosting
- 40 Mini Peanut Butter Cup candies (Reese’s®)
- 1 bag Log House Foods® Chocolate or Vanilla Baking Chips (optional)
- Assorted sprinkles
instructions
- Prepare and bake cake mix as directed on box.
- Crumble cake into a large bowl. Mix thoroughly with frosting (it may be easier to use fingers to mix together).
- Chill for approximately 2 hours in the refrigerator (you can speed this up by placing in the freezer).
- Roll cake mixture into 1" sized balls (so they fit perfectly on top of the peanut butter cups) and place on a wax paper lined baking sheet.
- Melt Vanilla and Chocolate CANDIQUIK® Candy Coating in Melt and Make Microwaveable Tray™ according to directions on package.
- Dab a small amount of CANDIQUIK® on top of the peanut butter cup and press a cake ball on top, let set.
- Dip the top of the cake ball into the CANDIQUIK® by holding the end of the peanut butter cup. Slowly pull out and allow most of the excess CANDIQUIK® to drip off; it’s ok if a little melts down over the p.b. cup (gives it the melted look when dry); sprinkle, sprinkle and top with baking chip.
TIP: If cake bites become too soft or are not holding their shape while being dipped, place back in the refrigerator for 20-30 minutes.
